Recover abandoned carts with text messages

Abandoned carts are one of the biggest challenges e-commerce is facing. Around 80% of online shoppers abandon their shopping cart and leave the website. Let’s compare different devices: of all people who shop on their phones 81% abandon their cart; around 77% of tablet users do not complete their purchase, and 74% of people who do their shopping via computers abandon their shopping process.

How to recover carts with text messages?

When somebody is at your checkout page and leaves it without completing the order, the cart is considered abandoned. If the visitor provides at least their phone number in the phone number field, they are eligible for receiving abandoned cart text messages

Is recovering carts by sending text messages GDPR compliant?

Unfortunately, we have no straightforward answer. It depends on the country where you want to send the text messages to. The plugin has a built-in checkbox where you can get the users’ agreement to receive them. You can change the text of the checkbox as you please so that it fits the country’s legislation.
